Toyota developed hybrid car without metal components

As quoted from CarAdvice, January 25, 2012, the world’s largest automaker has prepared a hybrid automotive that uses sustainable technology.

A spokesman for Toyota revealed that the company continued research of alternative materials other than metal. However, until this stage still needs time to introduce new car components to the market.

Two metals, neodymium and dysprosium, which is used in electric motor magnets are increasingly sought for hybrid and electric cars, so the supply in the world is getting less.

At present, China is producing more than 95 percent of rare metals, has recently expressed its intention to restrict its exports as a form of anxiety reduction of their natural resources. As is known, Japan is consumers of one third rare metals in the world. Hopefully Toyota will soon launch hybrid car without metal components, so rare metals will not empty.
